The Department of Accounting, Economics and Finance in our Faculty of Business and Law is seeking to appoint a Senior Lecturer with specific expertise in financial technologies and finance innovation.
Applications are welcomed from both academics and professionally qualified/industry experienced individuals, to contribute to our postgraduate finance programmes (in particular the MSc Financial Technology), and to enhance the focus on future technological impact in finance across our undergraduate programme portfolio. The MSc Financial Technology is a cross disciplinary programme with the Faculty of Environment and Technology, supported by an active industry partnership with Deloitte Digital and feeds a growing research specialism in the Faculty.
About us: The department promotes practice led teaching and research. In addition to our core Accounting and Finance provision we are expanding our offering into future facing innovation areas such as Financial Technology, Forensic Accounting and Insurance Risk Management. We actively support cross disciplinary collaborations to drive programme and research development.
Within the Faculty, the financial innovation theme is additionally reflected through the UWE Big Data Lab, housed in the Department of Accounting Economics and Finance and in the Law Department which has an international reputation in Financial Crime prevention and research. We work closely with industry through ‘Course Connect’ module partnerships, our Department Advisory Board drawn from regional industry, and our close relationships with regional bodies such as FinTech West. Embedded themes of enterprise and internationalisation, sustainability and ethics, cut across all our programmes. Our research is directed firmly at impact and is integral to our teaching delivery.

This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus, in the Faculty of Business and Law, built as part of a £300m investment programme for new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation, to provide an outstanding environment for both staff and students to thrive. It is within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus is a hub for the local public transport network and we also provide excellent facilties and support for cycling .
