As a result of a recent restructure within our Operations and Security team, we have a full-time post within the newly formed security service. You will provide support to the Security team to ensure delivery of an efficient, reliable, user-friendly security service to both internal and external customers of UWE Bristol
The role is permanent, and you will be working 12 hour day shifts which are 7am to 7pm on a 4 on, 4 off shift pattern.
Due to the shift patterns and the need to ensure 24/7 cover at each campus and outer sites, it is not possible for this post to be a job share opportunity.
Basic - £19,623 (C10 current basic rate)
Contractual overtime - £2,499.91
Weekend rate - £3,181.77
Plus 2 hours TOIL per week
Total renumeration package per annum - £25,304.68
The salary and allowances shown above are for 40 hours per week however the post is an average of 42 hours per week, therefore this post attracts 2 hours time off in lieu (TOIL) per week which is pre-programmed into our rota.
UWE Bristol operates across 3 main campuses, Frenchay, Glenside and Bower Ashton and you will be expected to work at any of these sites, including Arnolfini Bristol.The role includes the following duties:
There is an expectation that you will support UWE Open Days and Welcome Week etc. You have a good standard of general education, or can demonstrate experience of security in a similar relevant role in a large organisation; an SIA license or able to obtain the SIA license; and be First Aid at Work trained or willing to be trained. You have experience of working in a customer focused environment; have the ability to respond calmly, proportionately and professionally to serious incidents; and to be able to effectively handle conflict. You will be flexible to adjust shifts with reasonable notice to attend training etc.; be DBS checked; be able to work for sustained periods of effort in all weathers; and hold a current full driving licence and required to drive University vehicles.
