About the vacancy: A new and innovative opportunity has arisen to join the Technical Services Team, supporting programmes within the School of Health and Social Wellbeing at Glenside campus, UWE. The post will involve providing clinical skills instruction, simulation training, mandatory skills training, using a variety of approaches, which will include, digital learning, low fidelity simulation, high fidelity simulation using manikins, task trainers, and on occasions injury moulage. You will teach students across our healthcare programmes, but will have a particular focus on the Future Nurse programme, which is our largest programme within the School. You will help support and implement the delivery of skills proficiencies as identified in the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) standards.
The role is student facing, you will be working with students daily and will report to the Healthcare Training Resources Manager and work directly with the Technical Services team and academic colleagues. UWE Bristol is proudly a member of the Science Councils Technician Commitment.
About you: We are seeking an NMC Registered Nurse (Adult, Children and Young People, Learning Disability or Mental Health), with a first degree or equivalent education experience. You will have recent experience as a nurse within a healthcare setting and have a high-level understanding of physical healthcare in nursing practice and experience of also working with and supporting people, who have complex needs including mental health and learning disabilities. You will have excellent clinical skills and experience of using clinical skills equipment and instructing learners. You will have experience of working as part of a team as well as working autonomously.
This post is based at our Glenside Campus which is set within beautiful grounds in Stapleton, just three miles north east of Bristol City Centre. Regular bus services link the campus to the main Frenchay site, the city centre and surrounding areas, and nearby Bristol Parkway train station.
