About UWE
UWE Bristol is an ambitious university. Together, our people are working hard to advance knowledge, inspire people and transform futures. We are looking for people with the skills and ambition to help us achieve those aims. With over 30,000 students, 250,000 alumni and 3,600 staff. In 2020 we were placed 21st in the Guardian's Universities League Table.
About us:
Following the successful £2m award from the Engineering and Physical Services Research Council (EPSRC), UWE Bristol is leading a University consortium to continue the work of the Redistributed Manufacturing in Healthcare Network (RiHN) focusing on Redistributed Manufacturing (RDM) in deployed medical care. The RiHN aims to fund feasibility studies to advanced applications of RDM in five key areas, covering additive manufacturing, cell and tissue therapies, clinicals fluids and pharmaceuticals. It will also define requirements from an end-user perspective and develop the business case for innovation adoption. The post is funded for 12 months with potential for a short extension.
This is an exciting time for Bristol Business School. Our state of the art, £55million building has enhanced our ability to deliver an innovative research and strengthened our stakeholder engagement activity regionally, nationally and internationally. Bristol Business School sits alongside Bristol Law School within the Faculty of Business and Law. Our vision is to be internationally renowned for enterprising and practice-led research and teaching that benefit our students and society.
About you:
The Senior Research Fellow role primarily involves delivering the research agenda for Work Package 6 – assessing the business case for RDM in deployed operations. An important part of the role involves the development of maps, models and frameworks, based on quantitative and qualitative data collection.
The role requires the ability to translate technical language across disciplines, particularly between healthcare, engineering and management and you will assist the team in communicating with external audiences. You may also be involved in supporting the needs of the larger RiHN research programme, contributing expertise to other Work packages and assisting external feasibility studies to deliver greater impact.
