About us: This post is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join the UWE Bristol community and take a leading role in the delivery of our registration and welcome to new students. The role sits within the Student Administration part of Student and Academic Services. Teams within this area work closely with all Services and Faculties to deliver on the end to end journey for students, from registration to graduation.
Reporting to the Head of Student Administration and Advice, you will work with Faculty and Service colleagues to support the delivery of work associated with students beginning their studies with us, including registration, on campus logistics, and events. You will also ensure that the information and systems are in place and updated to support all new arrivals.
The role works across all campuses and has connections to external agencies including the Students’ Union, the NHS and Voter Registration. You will take a proactive, pragmatic, solution focused approach to addressing and resolving any operational issues that may arise and take a strategic approach to the planning and delivery of this work based on the university’s operating model.
The start of year activities are focused on September and January when large cohorts begin their studies, however, students join programmes throughout the year. It is therefore important to ensure all new students feel welcomed and part of the university community.
About you: If you have experience in a large organisation and can demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills, and an interest in supporting students, we would like to hear from you. An ability to work flexibly, managing multiple priorities, whilst, at times, under pressure is crucial to this role. Flexibility and a solution focused approach will be key elements in this role.
You will be required to utilise matrix management techniques on a regular basis so should be able to demonstrate this experience.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
