About us: We are currently expanding our Computing activities in the Department of Computer Science and Creative Technology (CSCT) at UWE Bristol, and we are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computer Science. This area is well established in CSCT, we offer a range of undergraduate and postgraduate computing degrees.
CSCT is a rapidly expanding department with about 110 academic staff and over 1,800 undergraduate and postgraduate students. It offers a state if the art range of programmes in a wide range of computing disciplines.
About you: Candidates for this post should possess a postgraduate degree (or be very near to completion) in computer science or a related subject, or have at least 5 years of professional / industry experience that is equivalent to that.
We are looking for someone who has expertise in one or more of the following areas: AI; Data Science; Software Engineering; Networks; Cloud Computing; Cyber Security; Information Management; User Experience.
As the primary focus of this role will be teaching, and we would expect the candidate to have a genuine desire/passion to teach about Computer Science. However, they should also have research aspirations and will be expected to develop their research career.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.
