About you:
Library Services is seeking to appoint a Library International Student Support Co-ordinator with a specific focus on the Environment, Technology, Arts and Creative Industries based at the Frenchay Campus Library.
You will be qualified or working towards a professional qualification, in English language teaching or English for academic purposes, with experience in teaching and developing international students’ academic literacy.
As part of the team, you will be liaising with academic staff and other professional services.
You will support students at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, particularly international students, assisting in design and delivering embedded teaching on English language and academic skills. You will contribute to delivery of the central programme of Communication Skills for International Students workshops which are open to all students, as well as some participation from students studying overseas at UWE Bristol’s partner colleges. You will build and maintain strong working relationships with Faculty colleagues to deliver high quality teaching and support.
In this role, you will be involved in the creation of synchronous and asynchronous learning and teaching materials. This may take the form of online workbooks, quizzes and tutorials which are embedded into programme design. You will actively monitor student engagement and contribute to initiatives to improve engagement and impact.
The role will involve working closely with other members of the team and answering referred enquiries from the live chat service, ‘Ask a Librarian’, as well as having opportunities to be involved in wider university projects relating to international student progression.

This is a full-time, permanent post, working 37 hours per week. The University’s normal practice is that new appointments will be made at the starting point of the grade.
