Student Ambassador - Faculty of Environment & Technology (FET)
WHO CAN APPLY:
You must be starting/continuing with studies at UWE Bristol as of September 2020 (UG courses) or September 2020/January 2021 (PG courses).
We are currently only accepting applications from students on the following courses:
Undergraduate – FET Courses
Postgraduate – FET courses

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Student Ambassadors are current UWE students who are employed as casual workers to represent the University.
Student Ambassadors act as positive role models to give a first-hand view of the benefits of higher education and to represent UWE Bristol at a variety of different events and locations (on campus, virtual platforms and in schools/colleges/community settings) in support of UWE’s marketing and recruitment & outreach strategies.
We are looking for students who are enthusiastic about representing their course and University. The role involves a high level of customer service – no prior work experience is necessary, but you must be keen to work with a sales and customer service focus.
You must be committed to the shifts you accept and a reliable worker.
CASUAL WORK:
Work undertaken by Student Ambassadors is flexible and fits around your studies.
Student Ambassadors are casual workers, and as a casual worker - the Student Ambassador Scheme is not obliged to offer you any work nor are you obliged to accept any.
Student Ambassadors are sent work opportunities and it is your choice to accept/decline shifts.
APPLICATION FORM:
To apply for this role, you must complete an application form by the stated deadline.
In the application you will need to answer 4 questions:
Q1) What course are you currently studying? (the current course you are studying at UWE e.g. Games Technology BSc OR Creative Technology MSc)
Q2) Think of a time you have delivered excellent customer service – How did you engage with the person and what was the outcome?
Q3) Think of a time when you have worked as part of a team – How did you work together to achieve a goal?
Q4) Think of a time you have encouraged someone – What communication methods did you use with them and what was the outcome?

RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
If you apply in a recruitment round you need to ensure you are available for interview/training when dates become available. Applications cannot be transferred to another recruitment/interview round.
* On receiving applications, the team will shortlist against the core questions asked in the application.
* If you are successful at shortlisting you will be invited to attend a group interview. Details for the interview will then be sent to you in order to prepare.
* Virtual group interviews will take place on Microsoft Teams.
* If successful at interview, you will be required to complete mandatory training.

There will be further Student Ambassador Recruitment drives throughout the 2020/2021 academic year.
