Student and Academic Services (SAS) is a large and diverse service that supports staff and students across the academic life cycle. The Student Administration and Advice area covers a variety of our support and administrative teams including the student administration team, professional practice office, partnership operations and our student advice team. As a member of the SAS senior team, the Head of Student Administration and Advice supports the Deputy Director in this area in leading these services and contributing to service-wide strategic planning, fostering a collaborative working environment that continues to enhance Service performance.
About you: You are an experienced professional services manager with a track record of leading specialist teams to provide high quality, agile, customer-focused services. You are experienced in leading or managing scheduling activities such as timetables and assessments. You combine advanced expertise, knowledge and understanding of best practice in the design and delivery of effective student administration, support and development across the student journey, with a commitment to promoting innovation and continuous improvement of services. Energetic and resilient, you enjoy working at pace and are comfortable with complexity and uncertainty. You have excellent communication and influencing skills and establish credibility quickly with staff at all levels. You are passionate about higher education and inspire your teams individually and collectively to deliver the best possible support for students.
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed – £300m has been invested recently on new state-of-the-art learning spaces and accommodation while we continue to develop incredible new facilities to enhance our offer even further.
Frenchay campus has excellent transport links; as well as being located near the motorway network we are within walking distance of two train stations, our bus terminus connects us to the local bus and metrobus network and we also have a range of cycling and changing facilities.

This is a full/part-time, fixed-term post for 2 years, working 37 hours per week.
This post is will be considered on a job share basis for applicants wishing to work part time.
