About this role: Are you passionate about reuse?
Do you want to make a tangible difference in the field of Sustainability?
Are you ready to join an enthusiastic team working to make a difference?
We are looking for someone who can practically support reuse activity at UWE Bristol. This role ranges from managing our internal furniture offering, to networking with charities and the wider community to find a home for items the university no longer needs. We need someone who is organised, detail driven and able to help deliver meaningful Circular Economy activity. This is a varied role with a mix of practical work – dealing with physical items and getting these reused; interacting and communicating with people – both internally and externally; and some desk based work relating to cataloguing and data capture.
The Sustainability Hub is a swap shop on campus where students and staff can exchange quality reused items, including clothes, books, small electricals and kitchen crockery. Alongside the Furniture Store this space enables reuse activity on Frenchay Campus and is open Tues, Wed, Thurs every week.
About you: You will be interested in reuse and keeping items in use for as long as possible, with the ability to communicate this to colleagues to help enhance perceptions of reused items. You will be able to network effectively to link UWE Bristol to external organisations with the aim of building long term partnerships. Your attention to detail will ensure accurate information on reuse activity e.g. numbers of items, end destination.
Where is this role based?
This post is based at our lively Frenchay campus where we have invested in the latest facilities and resources to give both our staff and students access to everything they need to succeed.
